Bathrooms are the 2nd most valuable rooms in a house after the kitchen. Try keeping bathroom suites white or neutral in colour. If you have a coloured suite, work with the colour in various shades.

Simple inexpensive updates that you can do yourself are:

  • buy and fit a new toilet seat and pedestal basin;
  • replace  or cover up vinyl tiles;
  • re-grout tiles and renew the sealant around baths and showers to get rid of any mildew areas;
  • repaint the bathroom to give it a fresh look;
  • put out fresh fluffy towels during viewings.
