A bright home appears to be more welcoming and larger in extent than one that’s dark and gloomy. Ensure that your house is as brightly lit as possible by allowing light to stream into every room:
  • Open blinds and windows
  • Replace any broken light bulbs, ditch fluorescent bulbs and test to make sure that all of the lights are working
  • Put lights on, use light coloured lampshades and ensure that you have lamps on in any dark corners
  • Clean windows
  • Consider putting some mirrors up in smaller rooms or passages as they make areas look larger and lighter
  • Cut trees or bushes that may obstruct light from entering the house
